
Influenced by a lifetime of world travels resulting in a vast collection of vintage collectibles after raising a family in a home-built in 1925 the homeowners were ready to lighten up the look and feel of their dated home.

With a love for color and pattern Chicago based designer, Summer Thornton, shades of blue would be incorporated throughout the home from Indian block prints and Turkish florals ranging from aqua to teal.

A mix of papered and painted walls from gingham checks to stripes bring life and charm to the home.


The quest for lighthearted living influenced every design element in this project. It’s hard to believe that it all began with a home that was dressed in its original decor of dark and heavy furnishings in a color scheme of burgundy and jade.
