Well designed residential square footage that incorporates easy movement between everyday tasks accommodating contemporary lifestyles are gaining popularity.

The real estate market has its eye on millennial and baby boomers who are looking for more affordable and smaller home choices according to PricewaterhouseCoopers and the Urban Land Institute’s Emerging Trends in Real Estate 2016 annual report. Demand for new and alternative housing options such as microhousing (tiny homes) and cohousing (a community of private homes supplemented by shared facilities).

HGTV’s Smart Home 2015 is a fine example of a tech savvy home. The docking station boasts a Home Control System that is equipped with two iPads that when partnered with a smart phone can be used to control light settings, blinds, Tempurpedic beds, security system and the entire audio/video system throughout the home.
