Here we go again after months or even years of deliberating over what to do, how to do it and when to do it; you are finally ready to take the leap into the world of ‘before and after’ for better or worse.

It shouldn’t feel so overwhelming of a decision when we decide to take the plunge and “just do it” when it comes to updating our home. This feeling of “what ifs” can be avoided with a little foresight and planning along with diligent application of implementing a well thought-out plan.

Begin with a vision: Answer the questions that the new updated space will answer making sure that the unmet needs will be answer after the work is completed. Will the lack of function be met with this project?

Allow sufficient time: Plan the work during the least hectic time of ‘your’ year especially if you will wear the hat of the general contractor; someone has to oversee the project from the top making sure steps are not being overlooked.

Finish strong: Try not to skimp at the end or compromise in the final decisions that will complete the project at the same standard it began. If you run out of resources give yourself some time to finish strong and well!
