My favorite interior design trends and images this year featured every aspect of the home from building a new home to updating and full remodeling projects. I featured inspirational design projects showcasing incredible interior spaces highlighting the latest in kitchen and bath, lighting, cabinet colors and styles, flooring, wall coverings, custom treatments and furnishings.
Kitchen and bath projects were also a favorite feature leaving you informed in all aspects of kitchen and bath design. Popular kitchen cabinet color trends, cabinet door styles, hardware, lighting and island features were spread among many articles.
Luxury kitchen appliances made a splash this year as well with personalization of your space to fit your lifestyle needs becoming a reality in kitchen design. Made possible with refrigerator and warming drawers, breakfast bars, drinking stations, dual dishwashers and hidden televisions conveniently placed were needed for certain tasks and entertainment in the kitchen space.
Color trends were also a big deal this year ending with the announcement of Pantone’s Greenery (15-0343) 2017 color of the year. And let’s not forget my articles featuring bold design, smart home design and decorator showhouse trends that can add a spark to your home.
Interior design is constantly evolving year to year, like a marriage that must grow with time to remain relevant. As our lifestyles are affected by what’s going on in the world our homes must adapt to meet our changing needs and season of life.
